Specimen No.VIII

A cabinet of curiosities escaped into cloth. Specimen No. VIII draws on Victorian entomology and the obsessive beauty of things pinned, catalogued and preserved beyond their natural life - beetles rendered in stark black, pale grounds, lace and funereal ornament. It is severe, uncanny and almost ceremonial, as though each piece has been lifted from a collection no one was supposed to open.
