There are stories that Marie Antoinette and her ladies-in-waiting used to dress as milkmaids at the Petit Trianon, where they would spend time away from the court mimicking rural idealistic life. Milking cows, collecting eggs, and picnicking in the summer sun were just some of the activities they enjoyed!
